INTRODUCING PROFILE SOIL SOLUTIONS SOFTWARE

PS3 is your single, comprehensive source for designing and selecting the right products to address both the physical and chemical properties of soil and site characteristics. It will help you develop holistic, sustainable solutions for cost-effective erosion control, vegetation establishment and subsequent reductions in sediment and other pollutants from leaving disturbed sites and entering water bodies.

SOIL TESTING IN 3 EASY STEPS

Agronomic Soil Testing & Analysis is the first and most important step for achieving the Green Design Engineering™ goal of sustainable vegetation.

Soil testing is the first comprehensive evaluation needed in order to proceed with any erosion control projects to determine proper soil type. Profile PS3 provides access to conduct Free Soil Tests along with directions on proper soil collection for testing. PS3 assists in the interpretation of the soil test and offers prescriptive application rates of various agronomic formulations based on key soil properties such as texture, classification, pH, nutrient levels, organic matter content, electroconductivity, sodium absorption ratio and potentially elevated levels of harmful salts and metals.

APPLICATION CALCULATOR

Now that you have selected the site specific Prescriptive Agronomic Formulations fertilizers, other agronomic amendments and Erosion Control Products with application rates needed for your site, it is time to calculate how much of each product should be mixed into each hydroseeder tank load and the total amount each product required for your entire jobsite.

This simple calculator will ensure that your hydraulic slurry is proportionately mixed at appropriate rates based on your hydraulic mulch application rate. It allows you to use either Imperial or Metric units to provide calculations in your preferred units of measurement.

PROJECT SERVICES

SPECIES SELECTION

Once agronomic Soil Testing has been performed, proper vegetation species selection along with any necessary soil amendments is the next step in the Green Design Engineering™ process.

It is necessary to understand the plant species needed for sustainable growth and long-term erosion and sediment control. Soil properties, climate, moisture regimes, slope aspect, future land use and a host of other considerations contribute to proper species selection. Profile and the PS(3) interface can connect you to the necessary soil selection and product recommendation resources to help you select native, turf grass and ornamental plant or seed sources.

Access species selection recommendations at the click of a button and quick registration with PS(3).

PRODUCT SELECTION

Once soil and basic agronomic considerations have been examined, it is appropriate to analyze your project site conditions and choose the most appropriate product.

Once soil and basic agronomic considerations have been addressed, it is appropriate to begin analyzing site conditions for characteristics such as slope lengths and gradients, ditch and channel flow hydraulics, banks, levees, shorelines, wetlands and more.

INSTALLATION

After the appropriate products have been selected, proper installation practices are critical to the success of your project.

Proper installation practices are critical to the success of any erosion and sediment control measure. PS(3) provides detailed installation guidelines and CAD details for all of our erosion and sediment control techniques, including Hydraulically-applied Erosion Control Products (HECP), Rolled Erosion Control Products (RECP) and Sediment Retention Fiber Rolls (SRFR).

INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE

Finally, it is important to make sure that after the products have been properly installed, that they are inspected and maintained to ensure compliance with EPA regulations.

The U.S. National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II regulations require that all active construction sites be routinely inspected and maintained after each significant precipitation or other potentially damaging event. PS(3) provides inspection and maintenance documents for each of the erosion and sediment control disciplines.
